ERMITA DE SANTA LLÚCIA – Historical country house in the Alt Empordà

Entrance to the house along a quiet road with very little traffic. Large private parking space which leads to the garden and outdoor area with different zones.

The interior of the house is accessed via an area with stone flooring, with easy access, where we find a covered porch and a small garden with flowers where guests can relax and enjoy the good weather. The door to the house is wide and made of wood.

GROUND FLOOR
On the ground floor we find the communal areas which retain their old stone walls and the vaulted ceiling. Entrance hall-sitting room with sofa, armchairs and TV area. There is also a wooden table with chairs and a door leading to the outside porch. A hall leading to all the other rooms of the house, with maps and local information, a guest toilet and washing machine. Next is the kitchen-dining room with fireplace, long wooden table, fully equipped with all the necessary equipment and utensils.

FIRST FLOOR
Upstairs there are five bedrooms arranged on various levels on the floor. They all have a private bathroom with shower and views. Some of them conserve old elements inside, such as the 12th Century Romanesque bell tower, an oven or the space with the old defence tower.

Level I
Bedroom 1: bedroom for four people, ideal for families, with a double bed, two single beds and the possibility of having a cot in the room. Small wardrobe, desk, bedside tables and reading lamps.
Bedroom 2: double bedroom with a double bed, bedside tables, wardrobes. As a decorative element, there is an old exterior oven which has been retained from the old structure of the chapel.

Level II
Bedroom 3: double bedroom with a double bed, wardrobes and bedside tables. Lovely views of the fields.
Bedroom 4: double bedroom with a double bed. Two-level structure. On the upper part is the double bed and there are stairs going down to the bathroom and a beautiful outside terrace with views of the garden.

Level III
Bedroom 5: superior en-suite double bedroom with double bed situated over the dome of the chapel. Part of the stone structure of the Romanesque bell tower is integrated into the room. Sofa-bed for an extra persona. Cot for babies.

Throughout the house there is wifi, heating (with heat pump system in the rooms), and air-conditioning.

OUTSIDE
Garden of more than 2,000 m² which has an area with a porch and barbecue under the trees, a chill-out area with table and chairs. Outdoor shower for cooling off. Decorative well in the middle of the large garden, ideal for playing outdoors or just relaxing in the countryside. Children’s playground with swings, ping-pong table and football goalposts. The house is adapted to celebrate weddings and has a semi-open covered area ideal for banquets or for dancing.

Big kitchen with all the necessary appliances and utensils like oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, vitroceramic hob, fridge, freezer, high chairs, kitchen paper, cleaning products. Fireplace. Table and chairs.

Lounge-dining room with sofas, armchairs, TV, coat stands, wooden table and chairs, door leading outside.

Comfort: washing machine, ironing board, heating, air conditioning and free wifi throughout the house.

Bedroom 1: Double bed, 2 single beds + possibility of a cot. Private bathroom with shower.
Bedroom 2: double bed, private bathroom with shower.
Bedroom 3: double bed, private bathroom with shower.
Bedroom 4: double bed, private bathroom with shower and lovely outdoor terrace.
Bedroom 5: double bed, private bathroom with shower, sofa-bed and cot.

Bathrooms: toilet paper, towels, hair dryer.

The small hamlet of Tonyà is located between the villages of Garrigàs and Vilamalla (with public swimming pools, just 2 and 3 kms away), 7 kms from Figueres and close to some of the most beautiful and emblematic places in Catalonia, such as the Cap de Creus Natural Park, the Greek and Roman ruins of Empúries, the medieval towns of Castelló d’Empúries, Besalú or Peralada, the coastal towns of Port de la Selva, Cadaqués, Llançà, L’Escala or Roses, the “Aiguamolls de l’Empordà” (a wetland area) or the “Albera” mountains. Close to the sea and the mountains, in a very quiet area yet well-communicated.

The terrain is flat which makes it ideal for cycling, horse-riding, walking and guests can also do windsurfing or diving nearby on the coast. There are also many places near Tonyà with plenty of history and good restaurants. Ideal for groups who want to enjoy a quiet natural place close to the Costa Brava.
