ERMITA DE SANTA LLÚCIA – Historical country house in the Alt Empordà

You get to the house along a quiet country road with very little traffic. It has a private parking area from where you access the entire outdoor space with the various areas that the property offers. In front of the house is a pergola with tables and chairs, and a flower bed with a beautiful orange tree. 

You go inside the house across an area with rustic Catalan terracotta tiles. Access is easy and without steps. 

GROUND FLOOR
On the ground floor we find the communal areas which retain their old stone walls and the vaulted ceiling. Entrance hall-sitting room with sofa, armchairs and TV area. There is also a wooden table with chairs and a door leading to the outside porch. A hall leads to all the other rooms of the house, with maps and local information, a small bookcase, a cupboard for cleaning materials, and a guest toilet with washing machine, iron, ironing board and clothes lines.

Next is a double bedroom with an old restored double bed. Then you come to the kitchen-dining room with a fireplace, a long wooden table, and a second table. Fully equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils, tableware and kitchen appliances: dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, toaster, blender, juicer.   

FIRST FLOOR
Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms arranged on different levels. They all have a private bathroom with shower. Some of them conserve old features inside, such as the 12th Century Romanesque bell tower, an oven or the space with the old defence tower. 

Downstairs:

Bedroom 0: bedroom with a double antique restored bed. With heating. Private bathroom with a shower.

Level I
Bedroom 1: bedroom for four people, ideal for families, with a double bed, two single beds and a cot. Wardrobe, desk, bedside tables and reading lamp. Private bathroom with shower.

Bedroom 2: double bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe, bedside tables. As a decorative element, there is an old exterior oven which has been retained from the old structure of the house. Views of the fields, facing east. Private bathroom with shower.

Level II

Bedroom 3: double bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe and bedside tables. Views of the woods, facing west. Private bathroom with shower.

Bedroom 4: double bedroom with a double bed. Two-level structure. On the upper part is the double bed with stairs going down to the bathroom and a beautiful outside terrace, facing south, with views of the property. Private bathroom with shower. 

Level III

Bedroom 5: en-suite double bedroom with double bed located over the nave of the chapel. Part of the stone structure of the Romanesque bell tower is integrated into the room. Sofa-bed for an extra persona. Private bathroom with shower.  

Wifi and heating throughout the house. Also, air conditioning in the 5 bedrooms on the first floor. 

OUTSIDE
Garden area of 2,500 m² with: a pergola, with tables, chairs and a barbecue; a large space to relax in the shade, or enjoy the sun and cool off with an outdoor shower; a decorative well in the middle of the large garden, a children’s play area with a playhouse, ping-pong table and football goal posts.

 The chapel with its porch and a covered area of 80 m², ideal for holding events and celebrations, such as weddings, birthdays etc.

Kitchen with all the necessary appliances and utensils like oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, vitroceramic hob, fridge, freezer, toaster, high chairs, kitchen paper, cleaning products. Fireplace. Table and chairs. 

Lounge-dining room with sofas, armchairs, TV, coat stand, wooden table and chairs, door leading outside.

• Bedroom 0: Double bed. Private bathroom with shower. On the ground floor.
• Bedroom 1: Double bed, 2 single beds + cot. Private bathroom with shower. 
• Bedroom 2: Double bed, private bathroom with shower. 
• Bedroom 3: Double bed, private bathroom with shower.
• Bedroom 4: Double bed and outdoor terrace. Private bathroom with shower.
• Bedroom 5: Double bed, and sofa-bed. Private bathroom with shower.

Bathrooms: toilet paper, towels, hair dryer. 

Comfort: fireplace, heating, air conditioning and free wifi.

The small hamlet of Tonyà is located between the villages of Garrigàs and Vilamalla (with public swimming pools, just 2 and 3 kms away), 7 kms from Figueres and close to some of the most beautiful and emblematic places in Catalonia, such as the Cap de Creus Natural Park, the Greek and Roman ruins of Empúries, the medieval towns of Castelló d’Empúries, Besalú or Peralada, the coastal towns of Port de la Selva, Cadaqués, Llançà, L’Escala or Roses, the “Aiguamolls de l’Empordà” (a wetland area) or the “Albera” mountains. Close to the sea and the mountains, in a very quiet area yet well-connected.

The terrain is flat which makes it ideal for cycling, horse-riding, walking and guests can also go windsurfing or diving nearby on the coast. There are also many places near Tonyà with plenty of history and good restaurants. Ideal for groups who want to enjoy a quiet natural place close to the Costa Brava.
