Mas Rubió – Charming rural tourism in the heart of La Garrotxa

Access to the house is via a well-maintained unpaved road leading to a clearly marked parking area. The first thing you’ll notice is the bar-terrace at the entrance, complete with a vending machine and inviting iron tables and chairs. 

The house has 7 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, accommodating up to 15 people. The dining room is spacious and bright, featuring large arched windows and a small balcony. 

It has 3 floors and several areas with different uses

GROUND FLOOR

The main door leads directly to the ground floor, where there is a living room with brochures about local activities, a toilet, a family bedroom, and two rooms with Catalan vaulted ceilings: one with carpeting and toys for children, serving as a playroom, and another with a table and chairs for courses, workshops, talks, and meetings. 

FIRST FLOOR

Going up the stairs to the first floor, you’ll find a space with a traditional fireplace and benches, ideal for quiet afternoons reading or chatting in a warm and authentic atmosphere. There is also a reception area and access to the larger rooms, offering views of the landscape and all the comfort necessary. This floor  has 3 bedrooms. 

The main dining room is also on this floor; it’s a large, bright space with traditional arches and views of the valley from the small balcony. Meals are served here, often using produce from their own garden and locally sourced ingredients. They offer breakfast and lunch service, and with prior notice, you can order meals or even packed lunches to go.

SECOND FLOOR 

The second floor is designed as a more relaxed and tranquil living area. There is a large living room-library with ample space where you can read, relax, or simply enjoy the view. Books, sofas, and comfortable corners make it an ideal place to unwind. 

To the left, you’ll find a multi-purpose room perfect for meetings, talks, or small groups. There are 3 bedrooms on this floor.

It’s important to know that the entire house is heated. Room service is available from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Bed linen and towels are provided in all bedrooms, along with a hairdryer and other amenities. Free Wi-Fi is available in the common areas and most bedrooms. Pets are not allowed. Smoking is not permitted inside the house.

• Bedroom 1: Double bed (can be separated), two single beds, a double sofa bed, and en-suite bathroom with shower. (Ground floor).
• Bedroom 2: Double bed (can be separated), small double sofa bed, and en-suite bathroom with bath.
• Bedroom 3: Double bed (can be separated), en-suite bathroom with bath, and access to a terrace.
• Bedroom 4: Double bed (can be separated), sofa bed, en-suite bathroom with bath, and access to a terrace. 
• Bedroom 5: Double bed (can be separated), two single beds, a fold-up bed, and en-suite bathroom with bath. This room has air conditioning.
• Bedroom 6: Double bed (can be separated), two single beds, a sofa bed, and en-suite bathroom with shower. This room has air conditioning.
• Bedroom 7: Double bed (can be separated), two single beds, a fold-up bed, and en-suite bathroom with shower.

MEETING SPACES 

In addition to the room on the second floor, Mas Rubió also offers a meeting space in a former stable located next to the parking area and garage. This multi-purpose room can accommodate between 10 and 20 people. Folding tables, chairs, outdoor waste bins, and outdoor heaters are provided to comfortably accommodate any group. 

EXTERIOR 

The surroundings are an essential part of the experience. Mas Rubió also offers several outdoor spaces designed for enjoying nature and tranquility. 

Outside, there is a spacious terrace with a bar, vending machine, tables, and chairs. A garden area includes games for children and tables and chairs for relaxing. There is a barbecue available for group use only, and an outdoor parking area for 8 to 25 vehicles if parked at the rear of the house. 

A soccer goal and a ping-pong table are also available. 

Mas Rubió’s unique feature is its natural swimming pool, measuring 6 x 3 meters and 1.30 meters deep, making it one of a kind in the area. 

Pets are not allowed.

• Kitchen: At Mas Rubió, the kitchen is private and is where the owners prepare meals, often using produce from their own garden and locally sourced ingredients. They offer breakfast and lunch service, and with prior notice, meals or even packed lunches can be ordered.
• Dining Room: The main dining room is very well-equipped with everything you need for breakfast,with a coffee machine, and a refrigerator stocked with drinks. Tables seat 4-5 people and can be rearranged if a larger group wants to eat together.
• 3 Living Rooms: In total, the house has three living rooms, one on each floor. Each floor has sofas and armchairs for relaxing or chatting, a fireplace, and a library on one floor.
• 7 Bedrooms: 4 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and bathtubs, double beds, wardrobes, bedside tables, reading lights, desks, and linens. 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and showers, double beds, extra single beds, wardrobes, bedside tables, reading lights, desks, and linens.
• 7 full bathrooms with showers or baths, and a shared toilet downstairs.
• Meeting areas: on the first floor, tables, chairs, TV, retractable screen, and an outdoor room in the former stable with tables and chairs.
• Games and leisure: for children, ping-pong, a football goal, and a bar.
• Comfort: Heating, aire conditioning in the 3 bedrooms on the top floor, wifi.
• Outside: the house is surrounded by green areas and fields, with a small playground, a fenced enclosure with chickens, a terrace bar, a chill-out area with tables and chairs, a barbecue (reservations required for groups), and a natural swimming pool measuring 6 x 3 meters and 1.30 meters deep.

In its immediate surroundings are the Puigsacalm peak, the Fageda d’en Jordà beech forest, the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park… It is an ideal area for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers. It is located 15 minutes by car from the city of Olot, and an hour from the Pyrenees, the Costa Brava, or Barcelona.
