EMPORDÀ COSTA BRAVA HOUSE – Casa tradicional al Baix Empordà

The house is part of a complex with other constructions of the same period, opposite the medieval walls which surround the historic centre of Ullastret. You access the house along a quiet street. Its area of 180 m² is arranged over two floors and an outdoor pool. 

GROUND FLOOR 

The entrance to the house is on the ground floor, through a long L-shaped passage, with Catalan vaulted ceiling, which passes through two living areas: a space for keeping bicycles and a lounge with furniture, sofas and fan. Right after that is a small bathroom with toilet and shower. At the end of the passage is the outdoor chill-out area, with a pool surrounded by teak flooring and cushions. The pool is located in an interior patio with lots of light. This space can be enjoyed from inside, where large sliding French doors can be opened, making the space larger. From here, you go up some stairs to the first floor.   

FIRST FLOOR

Access to the living area upstairs is through a large glass door. The kitchen, rustic-style and fully equipped, has a fireplace and wooden table and chairs for six people. The lounge has a double sofa and an armchair, a coffee table and cabinets. There is also a TV, a small window and a Velux roof window which provide the room with natural light. The two bedrooms are on this floor, through the lounge: one of them is for four people, with a trundle bed below and a double bed on a platform above; the other is an ensuite bedroom, with a double bed and bathroom with bath.  

OUTSIDE 

Upstairs there is a lovely discrete terrace, with teak table and chairs, a sun-shade, shower, portable barbecue and a drinking-water well. It has views of Ullastret and the pool in the interior courtyard. Quiet cozy place. 

Large, bright kitchen with all the necessary utensils and appliances: oven, vitroceramic hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, capsule coffee machine, juicer, highchair.

Comfort: cot, washing machine and tumble dryer, air-conditioning, fan and free wifi throughout the house.  

Entertainment: outdoor chill-out area with pool and cushions to enjoy the Mediterranean sun in a very quiet town. 

Two bedrooms: one bedroom for four people with a trundle bed below and a double bed on a platform above. One ensuite bedroom with a double bed and bathroom with bath. All the rooms are fully equipped and special attention has been given to all the details. 

Bathroom: toilet paper and towels, hair dryer. 

Outside: outdoor space with pool and cushions. Upstairs terrace with outdoor furniture: table and chairs, sun-shade, portable barbecue, shower and views. 

Ullastret is a small town in the Baix Empordà region, situated 6 km from La Bisbal d’Empordà, 31 km from Girona, 40 km from Figueres, 60 km from France and 130 km from Barcelona. The beaches of the northern Costa Brava are just 12 km from the house. In the surrounding area are Iberian and Roman ruins, including the Iberian settlement of Ullastret (less than 1 km away) and the Greek-Roman ruins of Empúries (25 km away). Ullastret preserves important medieval structures, such as the wall and part of the castle (prison-tower), a Romanesque church and a covered Gothic market-place. It is a very quiet town with a population of about 250 people, surrounded by fields, woods and small back roads and country paths. Ullastret only has a few holiday homes, three restaurants, a grocery shop and a shop which sells traditional dairy products, where the famous recuit of Ullastret is made, a local variety of fresh cheese.
